With the exams all finished now’s the time for that relaxing period before the results arrive! Before taking that well-earned post–exam break to the Balearics / Blackpool make sure you’ve planned for Results Day.

A few key things are worth bearing in mind in preparations for your Results Day.

Think about what you want:

  • What alternative courses would you like to study if your results meant that you needed to change course (make a list of your top course choices)?
  • Don’t be afraid to contact universities now to ask any queries about courses you might be interested in.
  • Where would you like to study (think about locations, living and travel costs)?
  • Would you consider undertaking further study to obtain the grades you need?

 Planning for Results Day

  • Make sure that you’re able to access your results as soon as possible.
  • Be available for any discussions, interviews or Open Day visits with the universities you are interested in.
  • Register with UCAS now if you are not already in the UCAS system.

Get connected for Results Day

  • Make sure you know the Clearing Hotline phone numbers and the Hotline opening times for the universities in which you are interested.
  • +44 (0) 121 331 6777 is the Clearing Hotline Number for Birmingham City University and our Clearing Hotline is open from 8am on Thursday 14 August.
  • Make sure you have access to the internet to access your UCAS Track account and to see the full listing of Clearing vacancies.

And finally…

Talk to your family and friends about your study plans. Remember, it is your choice where you accept an offer of a place to study. Don’t feel rushed into making a decision – make sure you have thought about it and are happy with your choice.
