Our Postgraduate Open Day (22 April) is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about the postgraduate courses offered by the BCU School of Law. For law graduates interested in becoming a solicitor, the BCU Legal Practice Course meets the Solicitor’s Regulatory Authority standards, and provides excellent vocational training to prepare a student for a future legal career. The LPC teaching team includes qualified solicitors, providing valuable professional insights for your training.

For non-law graduates interested in becoming a solicitor or barrister, the BCU Graduate Diploma in Law, provides the foundational academic law subjects to obtain a qualifying law degree. Successful completion then allows for progression onto the Legal Practice Course.

To enhance employability, BCU Law School has contacts with law firms in Birmingham, including Squire Sanders and Mayflower Solicitors, and we also have contacts with law firms across the United States. We can advise on employment opportunities in both England and Wales, and the United States.

BCU Law School also offers two Master’s Degrees in Law. The LL.M. in International Human Rights and the LL.M. in International Business Law. These courses are taught by leading academics in their fields, including advisers to the United Nations, the European Union, Council of Europe, and the British Government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Master’s students can also have an opportunity to undertake the Model United Nations. See the student blog post at http://jonyorkehumanrights.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/the-fcobcu-model-united-nations.html, and Dr Jon Yorke’s blog post on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s blog at http://blogs.fco.gov.uk/fcooutreach/2014/03/11/the-model-united-nations-in-the-foreign-and-commonwealth-office-dr-jon-yorke/

We look forward to seeing you at the Open Event and answering any questions you might have about your postgraduate education in law.

The Postgraduate Open Event takes place on Wednesday 19 November, 2-7pm at the Parkside Building. Register now on the website.
